  ‘Occupy Unmasked’ Screening Introduced By Michele Bachmann

  • Citizens United presents this screening, where “the late Andrew Breitbart delves deep beneath the surface of the Occupy Wall Street movement to reveal its dark anarchist roots.” The free and open to the public screening will be introduced by Rep. Michele Bachmann. Thursday in Tampa.

  • Giant sand castle replicas of President Abraham Lincoln, the Lincoln Memorial and the White House have been erected behind the Bilmar Beach Resort through Saturday.

   

Mayor Buckhorn Launches RNC Call Center –– Extra city service to keep residents and visitors informed

August 14, 2012 – The City of Tampa will implement a customer service call center in support of the 2012 Republican National Convention (RNC). The RNC Call Center will provide up to date information on any additional street closures that may occur, parking options, basic directional assistance, and hospitality information for visitors.

The RNC Call Center number is (866) 762-8687, and is toll-free.

“This is an extra city service to keep residents and visitors in the know,” said Mayor Bob Buckhorn. “We’ve said since the start that this will be a fluid event, and that downtown residents, visitors, and commuters should be as flexible as possible. However, this solution ensures that everyone will be as informed as possible, and help make the Convention a great success for our City.”

The RNC Call Center will be activated 8 a.m. on Monday, August 20, 2012 and will be deactivated at noon on Friday, August 31, 2012. It will be staffed and operational 24 hours a day during that time, and there will be a Spanish language speaker available.

The RNC Call Center will not replace normal City operations, business functions, or call centers.

Mayor Bob Buckhorn to Host Town Hall Meetings on the Republican National Convention

This week, Mayor Bob Buckhorn will host three town hall meetings to answer questions and discuss the Republican National Convention’s impacts on residents and area businesses. Representatives from the Tampa Police Department, Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Office, Tampa Fire Rescue, Transportation and Parking Divisions, and more will be on hand to share information and answer questions.
