PYHOT started in 1988 and has continued to make a difference in the lives of low-income, elderly Tampa residents. Since 1988, over 57,000 people have volunteered to make it a success donating more than 332,000 volunteer hours.
Background
This massive effort is made possible by donations of money, supplies, and labor. Houses are selected throughout the year. Prior to paint day, community volunteers meet with the homeowners to evaluate and prepare the homes for painting. Additionally, PYHOT organizers work throughout the year on organizing volunteers and volunteer teams, identifying sponsors and collecting donations, choosing trim colors and pressure washing the homes.
Paint Your Heart Out, Tampa! is 501C3 established to paint the homes of low income elderly citizens in the Tampa area. For more information about the program, please call (813) 258-4512 or visit www.PYHOT.org.
